Emirates Airlines has just started its daily flight service between Dublin and Dubai. Dublin has become the third route in the year 2012 to be added to the airline’s expanding network.
After a long absence in Libyan aviation, the British Airways plans to resume flights to Tripoli three times a week from Tuesday May 1st.
According to a recent report, building a new London airport in the Thames Estuary is becoming more and more likely, with David Cameron showing significant interest. The government has also reiterated that Heathrow will definitely not get a third runway.
Nice Côte d'Azur airport has announced exciting plans for a third terminal. The date of completion for the ambitious project is likely to be around 2019 with work set to begin in 2016. Terminal 3 will compliment Nice Côte d'Azur's other recent developments, such as the P6 parking facilities and the 2000-space Car Rental Centre which were both completed in 2011.
British Airways is to reinstate flights between Gatwick and Nice next year, with a three times-daily service. The reinstated route commences on March 25, 2012.
KLM is developing what it calls “meet and seat,” which will allow passengers who choose to participate to examine other participants’ profiles on Facebook and LinkedIn in order to choose seatmates by common interests.

Gatwick has welcomed a new carrier, with the launch of Turkish Airlines’ daily flights to Istanbul. The route is operated using an Airbus A321-200, with capacity for 195 passengers in a two-class (economy and business) layout.

South African Airways will start flying from Johannesburg to Beijing, China, on January 31, 2012.
Norwegian will add the Copenhagen-Milan (Malpensa) route on June 29, 2012. The new route will be operated twice a week with Boeing 737-800s.
Emirates Airline (Dubai) continues to rapidly expand. The United Arab Emirates-based carrier will begin flying the Dubai-Rio de Janeiro-Buenos Aires route starting on January 3, 2012.

BA is launching a new Bronze tier level to its Executive Club that sits between the existing Blue and Silver levels. Members will qualify after earning 300 tier points or taking 25 flights, half the requirements for Silver membership.
